Newborn Bliss
Last week, I was so excited to have the chance to photograph Baby Stella for her big debut into the world. She came to the studio at three days old to have her first photoshoot. (secretly I think she may have a future in front of the camera because she did a few ‘poses’ of her own.
) I was also very proud of mom and dad, they kept calm and didn’t stress while we working. (Babies can sense this.) They also took all of my advice to heart from the beginning of our first meeting to prepare for this session so everything went extremely smoothly. Preparation in advance is a good thing!
If you are thinking (or know someone that would be thinking) about having newborn pictures taken like these, then you must schedule into our calendar BEFORE your due date. Typically, I would say that you would want to get a spot on our calendar 2-3 months before you due date so that I can make sure that I have room for you. Now, I understand that we don’t know for sure when your little one will arrive and that is ok! I place a ‘block’ in my calendar, not the actually session, so that I know that around that time Baby will make it’s arrival. Once Baby arrives, you make a quick call to schedule the actually session but if I don’t already have that ‘blocked’ off space for you, you may not be able to get in as early as you would like to get the poses that you see below. Newborns change very quickly, both in looks and activity, even after just a week! Do not miss out on the opportunity to have your little ones first moments captured.
We photograph children of all ages and have special discount plans for Baby’s first year of life. You can see those HERE.. Please contact us at 517.563.8269 for additional info or fill out the contact form HERE.
Baby Chase
Before we left for vacation, I had a chance to take some newborn pictures of my best friend’s little guy. Such a cute little guy! At the time this pictures were taken, he was actually 7 weeks old but he still seemed some small to me. (Maybe because my kids are starting to get past the toddler stage and getting ready to start school! Side note for my small tear, they grow so fast!) About a week after he was born, we had a “small’ medical scare with him that turned out to be 100% fine. It is amazing how the power of pray and faith, can somehow get you through something so heartbreaking. I don’t think any of us have ever prayed as hard as we did that week while awaiting news. And then, when it was over and good news came that little Chase was going to be absolutely fine, the tears of joy would not stop and thanksgiving.
I love that in my job I get to connectwith people in such a unique way. I get to help them preserve the moments that are important and special. Moms having pictures of the little ones is so important because they grow so fast and change in so many ways. I hope you enjoy seeing these images and feel free to leave us some comments at the bottom! Until next time…..
Emma is turning One!
Can you believe how fast time goes by? I don’t think we really notice until we have kids of our own and watch them grow. Tears come to your eyes when you look back and think, “Where did the time go?” Children are a gift from God and blessing to have in your life. (Yes, a blessing, even when they are driving you mad during the day.) This is why getting pictures done regularly, especially when they are younger, is so important. You will not get these years back. Think to yourself, when was the last time you stopped and took pictures of your children (even with your own camera) and actually got prints? If you haven’t the prints in hand, how often do you look back into your hard drive (where ever your digital images are stored) and actually LOOKED at them? Kids love to flip through photo albums and see themselves when they were little. Please think of all the embarrassing things you will be able to show the boy/girl friends when they start coming around.
So what are you waiting for? Get snappin’! Oh but before you leave! Take a peak at little Emma on her very important milestone.
Bryella is turning One!
I cannot believe that a year has gone by already. I was blessed to be able to take pictures of Bryella when she was only 4 days old.
And now, she will be turning one this month. Time really does fly! Not only am I now measuring time by my own kids growing up but by my clients’ children as well! I really do find it a privilege that so many of you bring your children to me to document your memories. I am always working my hardest to give you something that cannot be replaced. To freeze time, a memory, and have it last forever in your life displayed in your home or shared with friends and family.
