Engaged: Jeni + Robert
We were extremely excited to hear from Jeni when she asked us to photograph her wedding. You see, we had already met at her sister’s wedding earlier this year, and so now it is like working with family! We believe the highest compliment that we can get is someone referred to us based on work that we have done previously. :) We took advantage of the warm late October weather to capture their engagement session with gorgeous fall colors and we cannot wait until next June when we get to help them celebrate their wedding!
Engaged: Lisa + Mike
A couple weeks ago, Jason and I met up with Lisa and Mike at Cascades Park in Jackson to get some gorgeous engagement images around sunset. We will be photographing their wedding in June 2013 and looking forward to working with them over the next year. I think that is what I love most about wedding photography, is the relationships that we get to build with our clients. Our hope of course is that we will continue to photograph their life events as the years pass. It is very exciting to see how families grow and change as the years go on.
Married: Dawn + Alec
We were very excited to photograph Dawn and Alec’s wedding this fall in Marshall Michigan. The ceremony took place in downtown Marshall with the reception at the Medalist Golf Course. I don’t think that you could ask for a nicer fall day. The sun was shining and nice and warm. The sky stayed clear all day so we were even able to get some sunset shots at the end of the evening! (These are always my favorite when the timing and venue work out correctly for us.)
Enjoy!
Married: Ivy + Jack
We first met Ivy and Jack at the Gene Davis Bridal show back in January and we have completely enjoyed working with them from start to finish on their wedding plans. They are such an amazing couple with awesome personality. They said their “I Do’s” at Sauk Valley in Brooklyn Michigan a couple weeks ago. The original plan was to have an outdoor wedding but with the rain all day, the decision was made to bring it inside to the upper floor of the building with the a beautiful wall of glass windows. (I told them afterward that I think that the ceremony inside was so pretty that we should be happy that it rained so much!) The sun did peak out though at the end of the day giving us the perfect opportunity to go out and get some images with the wedding party and at sunset over the lake. Congrats you guys!
Married: Erin + Justin
I do not think that there could have been a more beautiful day for Erin and Justin’s wedding. They had planned their day to include a first look (Bride and Groom seeing each other before the ceremony), and we helped them make it a very special moment for the two of them. They met in a vineyard and after a few moments to themselves we were able to capture some beautiful portraits of the happy couple prior to the lakeside ceremony. And then once, the sun began to set, we were able to capture some more stunning sunset shots to close out their day dancing under the stars. :)
Did you know that your photographer can help you plan your wedding day schedule so that you can time out the day to get some sunset pictures or take advantage of your scenic venue. The images that you fall in love with usually don’t just happen. They were planned and timed in accordance with the time of the day. So if you want a certain look or feel with your wedding images be sure to speak about that with your photographer (or as you interview to pick your photographer). Make sure that they are knowledgeable and put you at ease in this part of the planning process.
Now here’s a look at Erin and Justin’s wedding. Enjoy!
Married: Brittnii + Dan
Earlier this month, we had the pleasure of photographing Brittnii and Dan’s special day and we couldn’t be happier for them. They are too cute together. Surrounded by the family and friends full of love for the two of them, they said their vows at the same church that Brittnii’s parents did in Grass Lake. Dan’s sisters surprised the couple with a limo ride from the church to our quick Downtown Jackson photo-shoot (and yes, I do mean quick. Literally all the outside shots were done in about 10 minutes. Don’t crack under pressure!) and continued them on to their reception which took place at the Optimist Ice Arena in Jackson.
Unfortunately, Brittnii’s beautiful cake never made it to the reception with a little mishap on its way there. Now I’m sure all brides upon hearing this news would be extremely upset and we had to remind her that at the end of the day the important thing is that 1. She had awesome wedding pictures (I joked, but am completely serious at the same time. Ha!
) and 2. She married her best friend that day and it was the starting point of their wonderful life together. In the end, the cake is a pretty trivial thing compared to that.
Brittnii and Dan – Never stop loving one another, always talk to each-other, never go to bed angry (seriously, even the Bible says so.), and continue on with your Love Story. Keeping add to the pages of memories as long as you both shall live. Love you guys!
Married: Kara + Kenneth
Another beautiful wedding at the Cascades Manor House! Kara and Kenneth had beautiful details all throughout their wedding day and we really enjoyed all decorations created by All The Details. Their cake was created by Cakes by K.Renee and if you have never tried some of her unique and yummy cake, you are missing out!
We absolutely loved working with Kara and Kenneth’s family. We loved feeling like a part of the group and this day was no exception to that. On the day of a wedding, we generally have just as much fun as the wedding party. We never hold ourselves aloft and away from the group – that is where all the exciting things happen and so that is where we want to be. The images we take are from the insider’s perspective, not the outside looking in.
Kara and Kenny here is some advice from us: Act like you are on the same team, flirt with each other (yes, even though you are married don’t give up on the fun!), hold hands, enjoy the small things, and please Kenny do not EVER forget your wedding ring.
Congrats you guys!
Wedding Albums
After the kiss, the cake, the dance, the decorations come down and the biggest day in your life goes from consuming your life to a memory to be cherished for a life time. What will you have after your wedding day the memories alive like they were yesterday? Sure, you could have them digitally somewhere, in a drawer, on a computer hard drive, in some online storage but how often are you going to have those at your finger tips and actually ‘flip through’ to relive that day?
Why not have your day put into a FairyTale album that will sit out on your coffee table just within reach to share with friends and family for years to come. The albums that we offer will become family heirlooms passed down several generations. With so many choices available to you of materials and colors, each album is as unique as you and your wedding. Don’t settle for plain and ordinary square shaped black albums any longer!
Images that span across the pages with no space in between to ruin that perfect image, that lay flat when open to again not interrupt the memories of your wedding day. The perfect way to display your Love Story, in a book full of pictures that are worth thousands of words.
We are always excited when brides choose to add on a wedding album to their package! They are making a decision that they will not regret for the rest of their life. The perfect way to share their wedding story for years to come. (Because let’s face it, you aren’t going to be carrying that disk around and saying, “Here are my wedding pictures!”)
Married: Brittany + Derrick
Words cannot describe how excited we were to be working with Brittany and Derrick for the Wedding Day. From the very beginning, they knew that they were going to have a glitzy, glamour, Cinderella Wedding and oh my, the details were AMAZING! All of there decor was done by Leave It To Us Wedding and Events and their newly added decorating team. Heather (if you meet her, you will fall in love with her instantly) helped to make Brittany’s vision a reality with the lights, ostrich feathers, and sparkling jewels. We actually went to the hall (Gene Davis’ Banquet Hall) before the wedding to see it and photograph it before all the guests arrived to really be able to document the elegance of it all. They also had Beth, (Wedding planner extraordinaire), coordinate the whole day so that all they had to do was enjoy themselves the entire day.
The cake was created by Cake By K.Renee and if you have never tasted her cake you are missing out! I almost never have time to sit and grab a piece of wedding cake but toward the end of our evening there, I made sure to grab a slice and imagine myself in heaven for a few moments. She also made sure the theme carried right into the cake with the black ribbon and sugar pearls. Yum! P.S. I am not a frosting person AT ALL (just not a big fan, I normally eat my cake upside down to avoid it. Ha!) but Kristen special recipe is my exception to this rule.
I hope you enjoy reliving Brittany and Derrick’s Wedding Day with me here in the images below. Please leave them some love below in the comments section and wish them congratulations!
Oh! And by the way, Brittany’s dress…. Hands down my favorite dress to date! So much detail and went right into her Cinderella wedding.
Enjoy!
Married: Katie + Josh
We love having couples that are as excited about their wedding photography as we are. Katie and Josh had tons of ideas and details that they wanted to incorporate into their Big Day! First of all, Josh is big into super heros and so he and all the groomsmen of course had to dress the part with a big reveal after the ceremony. Both the reception and ceremony took place at the Eyre of the Eagle in Grass Lake which gave us plenty of time to get in the shots that we wanted.
Katie not only made the little wedding favors on the tables from scratch but their own wedding cake as well! Katie is completing her degree and hopes to open up her own shop once she graduates.
We are so happy for them and wish them many years of love and happiness. We hope that you guys will stay in touch and allow us to photograph other moments in your lives as time goes on.
