Brynleigh 6 Days New
What a precious little princess that came to visit with me last week! I love how tiny everything is on a newborn. It is amazing how fast they change and grow! Miss Brynleigh woke up on me toward the end of her session but was completely calm so we just kept shooting. Now mom has some really cute pictures with her eyes open too.

Baby Jack
We met Baby Jack’s parents back in January at a bridal show when they asked us to be their wedding photographers for their special in September. Well, I felt that Baby Jack needed a little photoshoot of his own and encouraged Ivy and Jack to bring him in and gets some pictures down for his Six Month milestone. He is just happiest baby ever I think. And those big blue eyes!! Mommy you better watch out because girls are going to be pounding on your door before you know it! :)
Be sure to let Mom and Dad know how cute you think he is in the comments below!
Newborn Bliss
Last week, I was so excited to have the chance to photograph Baby Stella for her big debut into the world. She came to the studio at three days old to have her first photoshoot. (secretly I think she may have a future in front of the camera because she did a few ‘poses’ of her own.
) I was also very proud of mom and dad, they kept calm and didn’t stress while we working. (Babies can sense this.) They also took all of my advice to heart from the beginning of our first meeting to prepare for this session so everything went extremely smoothly. Preparation in advance is a good thing!
If you are thinking (or know someone that would be thinking) about having newborn pictures taken like these, then you must schedule into our calendar BEFORE your due date. Typically, I would say that you would want to get a spot on our calendar 2-3 months before you due date so that I can make sure that I have room for you. Now, I understand that we don’t know for sure when your little one will arrive and that is ok! I place a ‘block’ in my calendar, not the actually session, so that I know that around that time Baby will make it’s arrival. Once Baby arrives, you make a quick call to schedule the actually session but if I don’t already have that ‘blocked’ off space for you, you may not be able to get in as early as you would like to get the poses that you see below. Newborns change very quickly, both in looks and activity, even after just a week! Do not miss out on the opportunity to have your little ones first moments captured.
We photograph children of all ages and have special discount plans for Baby’s first year of life. You can see those HERE.. Please contact us at 517.563.8269 for additional info or fill out the contact form HERE.
Baby Chase
Before we left for vacation, I had a chance to take some newborn pictures of my best friend’s little guy. Such a cute little guy! At the time this pictures were taken, he was actually 7 weeks old but he still seemed some small to me. (Maybe because my kids are starting to get past the toddler stage and getting ready to start school! Side note for my small tear, they grow so fast!) About a week after he was born, we had a “small’ medical scare with him that turned out to be 100% fine. It is amazing how the power of pray and faith, can somehow get you through something so heartbreaking. I don’t think any of us have ever prayed as hard as we did that week while awaiting news. And then, when it was over and good news came that little Chase was going to be absolutely fine, the tears of joy would not stop and thanksgiving.
I love that in my job I get to connectwith people in such a unique way. I get to help them preserve the moments that are important and special. Moms having pictures of the little ones is so important because they grow so fast and change in so many ways. I hope you enjoy seeing these images and feel free to leave us some comments at the bottom! Until next time…..
Bryella is turning One!
I cannot believe that a year has gone by already. I was blessed to be able to take pictures of Bryella when she was only 4 days old.
And now, she will be turning one this month. Time really does fly! Not only am I now measuring time by my own kids growing up but by my clients’ children as well! I really do find it a privilege that so many of you bring your children to me to document your memories. I am always working my hardest to give you something that cannot be replaced. To freeze time, a memory, and have it last forever in your life displayed in your home or shared with friends and family.
Meet Zayden
Zayden was 10 days old when hecame to visit for his photo session. Such a sweet little man! I love doing newborn images. I am officially all done having children myself so this way I get to play with them a little bit and give them back (Just like Grandma!). But it always satisfies my itch to have a little one again, I mean who doesn’t want to hold a baby right? Ok, unless they have a smelly diaper. Ha! Newborns always take some time when doing their sessions. It isn’t something that you can hurry and get done. It is definitely done to their timing. I suggest to everyone that contacts me about newborn pictures to book your session before you actually have the baby. We will figure in time in our calendar right around the due date but it is completely flexible to how mom and baby are doing once they get home from the hospital. I think it is best to take pictures within the baby’s first week. They are still sleepy and are much easier topose. (They don’t realize that they have all this room out here yet!
Ava 6 Days New
Many of you know that I’m really looking to add more portraits into my work especially the milestone moments. Little Ava came in the world a little after Christmas and is just about the sweetest thing you have ever seen! I love her little peach fuzz hair, so soft!
Newborns are definitely a lot of work to get the images but it is definitely worth it to get them done. They change so quickly even after a week they are already starting to change. I photographed Mom and Dad’s wedding and I was super excited to be able to photograph their first little one. We did a Time-Lapse image of the pregnancy (shown below) as well which is a super unique way to document a pregnancy. (More info on that below)
My Time-Lapse Package is $200 and includes: One portrait taken around 16 weeks, 22 weeks, 28 weeks, 34 weeks, and with Newborn. Put together onto 10×20 Wall Mount to show progression of pregnancy. Also includes a full maternity session at the 34 week session and newborn session. Additional prints are extra.
